All of the following were effects of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments EXCEPT: a. Segregation of schools, neighborhoods, and jobs stopped. b. African Americans had some influence in government through voting. c. African Americans began to be elected into public office. d. Violence was reduced but did not stop.
my last question may someone please help
@wyattneedham @AnxiTEA
which one do you think??
d
Hm, alright so first, you have to know what each of these mean. The 13th amendment abolished slavery in the US and its jurisdiction, the 14th amendment grants citizenship to all people born in the US, including former slaves, and gives them equal protection under the law, and the 15th allowed for all citizens to vote no matter their race, color, or if they were slaves previously. With that being said, we can eliminate option B because they were allowed to vote. We can also get rid of option C because there were blacks able to be elected after this. Now between A and D, you said you think D. Could you explain why? Think of when these amendments were added, and then think of racial segregation in America. When did it end? Also think about violence. After these amendments were added, would there be less violence towards people of color, seeing as they now hold the same rights as white folks?
