San Angelo ISD campuses and offices will remain CLOSED the rest of the week through Friday, February 19, 2021 due to ongoing hazardous weather conditions, water issues and power outages. There will be no expectation of online attendance for in-person students or Virtual Academy students. SAISD has been in constant contact with the National Weather Service (NWS), TxDOT, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and other local agencies, and was informed that road conditions will not improve overnight and will remain hazardous and icy on Friday. It is important to note that decisions made regarding school delays and/or closures are not based on temperature, but icy road conditions that make travel dangerous and other weather-related considerations affecting the school day like power outages. We hope our students, families, staff and community are staying safe and warm in this historic weather and power outage crisis. San Angelo ISD appreciates the dedicated work of our SAISD Facilities and Maintenance team that is putting in extra hours late into the evening to protect our schools as well as first responders, linemen and other critical workers helping to keep our community safe. Continue to check our website, Facebook, Twitter, or local media channels for further weather-related updates.
