Mrs. Duncan wants to find out if Mt. Dew will affect the heart rate of her Physical Science students. She takes everyone’s heart rate before they start class. Then she asks half of the room to drink one can of Mt. Dew, and the other half not to drink anything. She finds that the students who drank Mt. Dew had an average of 15 more heartbeats per minute and that the students who did not drink Mt. Dew had an average of 2 more heartbeats per minute. What should Mrs. Duncan's conclusion be?

TypicalFoxGirl:

Her conclusion would be that Mt.Dew does affect the heart rate of her students, because: When she had tested, she found that her control group's (Group which were not given anything) average went up 2 heartbeats per minute, and her test group, which had the Mt.Dew, went up 15 heartbeats per minutes. Though obviously there could be other factors, such as how active the students were, physical shape, and other things. (Sorry for the bad reply, if someone else would check me if I'm wrong I wouldn't mind)

Thank you for responding
