@IMTHTBOYTAE

AZ:

So look at the graph, the number of gallons is on the y-axis

SapphireVoid:

i think the answers are a and b or c and d

AZ:

you can see as the time increases, the number of gallons is decreasing

AZ:

so trace the line from when y = 45 what is the x-value? we want x-values that are less than that (because remember as time is going on, the number of gallons is decreasing and we want a time where there will be more gallons)

SapphireVoid:

the x value would be 11 if y was 45

AZ:

good and now which answer choices tell us that we will have x-values that are less than 11 because if we have a time that's bigger than 11, then we will have less than 45 gallons we want a time less than 11 so we have more than 45 gallons

SapphireVoid:

a

SapphireVoid:

and b i think

AZ:

a says x > 11 which means we will get x as 12, 13 , 14, ... we want the opposite of that so we have to flip the sign x < 11 will give us x as 10, 9, 8, ...

SapphireVoid:

ohhh

SapphireVoid:

so its c and d

AZ:

Bingo!

SapphireVoid:

thank you

AZ:

no problem!
