question
@AZ
Hi
but how do I find that out
Okay, let's figure this out together, shall we? We have two different products: FAVORITE beef dog food and DELIGHT beef dog food.
Favorite beef dog food Each can holds 14.5 oz And 4 cans cost $1.00
For Delight beef dog food Each can holds 12 oz And 3 cans cost $0.58
so would you divided them
Following along so far?
and yes
Before we can divide them, we have to find the total amount!! The cans are not the same size. We want to find which dog food gives us MORE food for LESS money
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @AZ Favorite beef dog food Each can holds 14.5 oz And 4 cans cost $1.00 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) So for $1.00 we get 4 cans and each can is 14.5 oz So for $1.00 how much food are we getting? What is 4 * 14.5 =
58oz
Good! So for the Favorite one, we get a total of 58 oz for $1.00
Similarly for delight We buy 3 cans for $0.58 and each can is 12 oz What is 3 * 12 =
36oz for 0.58 cents
so then after would you divide them
Good!! Now we have Beautiful is 58 oz for $1.00 Delight is 36 oz for $0.58 Now we can divide. The first one already gives us the price for how much we get with 1 dollar. But for the second one, if you divide by 0.58, we'll find out how much food we get with 1 dollar What is 36/0.58 =
Yes!
62.06
or is it just 62
62.06 is fine! It's good to keep a few decimals just in case :)
So now we have Beautiful is 58 oz for $1.00 Delight is 62.06 oz for $1.00 Which one is the better deal? Which dog food do you get more food for less money?
the delight one
And that's your answer!
