Read the excerpt from "Let Bindi Have the Limelight." "I got him [Candy] two weeks after my dad died," Bindi wrote on her personal zoo blog, Bindi's Say. "He helps me feel lots better!" . . . A sense of security is critical for any grieving child, and Bindi, naturally, had found it in an animal -- one who'd sit on her shoulder as she'd rollerblade and on her lap during interviews. As she prepared to take on life without Dad, a small friend provided big comfort. What does this excerpt help readers understand about Bindi? Her love of animals helps her cope with her father's death. Her love of animals helps her be a better rollerblader. Her love for her father makes her blog a great success. Her love for her father makes her a better performer.

what do you think?

Any guesses?

So to begin, you can eliminate option D because not much is mentioned about her being a performer. Then, we are going to eliminate option B because while rollerblading is mentioned, there is nothing about how the animals had helped her to become a better rollerblader. Now, we are left with options A and C. Now focus on the reading, specifically the last sentence. Which answer do you think now based on that?
