Conditional Statement HW Question
So remember If your statement is `If p , then q` The converse would be `If q , then p` And the inverse would be `If not p , then not q` And the contrapositive would be `If not q , then not p`
so "if they have the same length, then two segments are congruent."
our statement is If `two segments are congruent` then `they have the same length` Do you see how it fits into If `P` then `Q`
That's your converse, excellent! What about the inverse now?
"if two segments are not congruent, then they don't have the same length"
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @idekanymore14 so "if they have the same length, then two segments are congruent." \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) and a better way to word it so that people can understand the sentence would be If two segments have the same length, then they are congruent
Excellent!!
And now finally the contrapositive statement
ok ok "if they don't have the same length , then two segments are not congruent"
Absolutely splendid work there!
Now do you know what congruent means?
ye the same size and shape right ?
Exactly so is our statement true or false?
true
wait the original part right ?
Yes for the original But it this case it doesn't matter because it's true for all of them (but it might not always be true for it all)
is that cleaner browser in this pic
