Heyyy, So has anyone read the book The fault in our stars? If so, would you like to help me re-write teh ending after Gus's death?

I mean maybe we change Van houten into a non-alcoholic. He goes to rehab and then comes back for Augustus's funeral. And Van as he is at rehab he writes the end of the book, just bc of august's death and Hazels pain. (Btw Hazel was his GF not wife nor daughter) Even though I think August's and Hazel Had Yknow what.

How does this sound so far?

It all happened at once. I was told Augustus was gone. Perished. It hurt me so much. I had given him everything, he had given me everything and yet he did it. He decided to not fight anymore. What happened? I got a call from his mother during the nighttime and she was sobbing. I had known what happened. I still couldn't believe it, the love of my life was gone. And I felt as if I was the one to blame.

he wasn't thinking that he couldn't be saved....
he just didn't want her to call 911 because he wanted hazel to fix it and so his parents didn't have to know anything. i mean, he went to buy cigarettes..
