Read I Corinthians, Chapter 13: "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." (KJV) I need help explaining what the simile means at the end of the verse "I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal."

sophia333:

What do you think it means?

441204:

i thinks its a way of saying he's like choking or stumbling on his own words

441204:

or people jus like his voice lol

sxdsouls:

give me one sec to read and fully understand this through the Bible.

441204:

the bible????

sophia333:

Personally, I think that Paul was trying to explain here that someone with riches and high profit is nothing without love. That though someone may use their talents for marvelous gifts, that there is no point to it if you have no one who cares. As he is saying: "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels" He is saying that he has the talent to speak with angels, but what use does it have if he can't share it with others? He is as quiet as a tinkling cymbal. Hope this helps :>

441204:

ur rite

441204:

the bible has to do with it

441204:

bruh lol

sxdsouls:

These actions of love in Chapter 13 are a representation of the presence of God himself. Paul is trying to call out the Corinthians on their problems, and show them that the real issue at hand is not whose spiritual gifts are greater than the others, but rather the issues is their lack of love for one another. https://biblia.com/bible/esv/1-corinthians/13 1 Corinthians 13:1–13

441204:

thats it!

sxdsouls:

Refrain from making spam comments to raise your smartscore. Anyways.. `rather the issues is their lack of love for one another.`
