nikkixmarie:

What is the midline of 2cos4x

snowflake0531:

do you know what a midline is? or where it is written in an equation?

nikkixmarie:

no that’s why I’m struggling on

nikkixmarie:

What*

nikkixmarie:

I thought it was 2 but I think it’s wrong

snowflake0531:

okay, the 2 is the amplitude, in an equation when it's _cosx + _ the first _ is amplitude the second is _ is midline in this case, because there isn't something added, the midline is 0

nikkixmarie:

Is the midline always zero?

snowflake0531:

no only if there is nothing added on if it was cosx -2, the midline would be at -2 if it was cosx +9, it would be at 9

nikkixmarie:

Ohhh okay thank you

snowflake0531:

yw

nikkixmarie:

Do you also know how to find the length of an equation like where the line stops

snowflake0531:

yk, bro, i'm also taking algebra 2/trig rn lmao i'm right in the unit doing sinusoidal functions, and tbh, i suck at it but the function has no limit in domain so~

nikkixmarie:

oh alright well thank you!

snowflake0531:

lolll
