emily101:

Leo has b boxes of pencils. Each box contains 6 pencils. He has a total of 42 pencils.The equation that represents this situation is b+6 = 42, 6b = 42, b = 42 + 6, 42b = 6 The value of b that makes the equation true is 7, 8 , 36, 48

emily101:

need help plz

jhonyy9:

@snowflake0531

snowflake0531:

so, there are 42 pencils in all there are boxes... and each box has 6 pencils how many boxes are there so, if they didn't give you the total amount of pencils, you would have done, 6 pencils times x boxes, right?

emily101:

idk

snowflake0531:

well, you would... because you would do 6x = total number of pencils so, because you know the number of pencils you would plug that in and write 6x =42

emily101:

what about the scond one

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @emily101 what about the scond one \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) so do you know how to isolate the x in 6x=42

mxddi3:

you can use the 6b=42 to solve for the second question. You need to isolate the variable. To do so, divide both sides by 6. what is 42/6? This will be your b value

ayo everyone let snowflake do his thing -- stop rarking the yarn up. THANKS.

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Florisalreadytaken ayo everyone let snowflake do his thing -- stop rarking the yarn up. THANKS. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) thxx, altho, *she lol

Aricuzyas:

Let's keep it appropriate before things get ugly.

emily101:

yes plz

snowflake0531:

but, @emily101 do you know how to solve for a variable? in 6b=42

Aricuzyas:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @emily101 yes plz \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Thank you.

emily101:

yes i do

emily101:

i got it im going to end the question ok

snowflake0531:

so you know how to get b then?

emily101:

no but ill get it

Aricuzyas:

Thanks @snowflake0531 Big brain xd

snowflake0531:

divide each side by 6 6b/b = 42/6

emily101:

i know that part

snowflake0531:

kk so then 42/6 is... 7

emily101:

ok

callmedaddy22:

7 is the answer i did that in 10 seconds

emily101:

ok

HoddieWizz:

lol

callmedaddy22:

kk

emily101:

im going to end this question ok

callmedaddy22:

kk
