atie assembled a magnet tester out of cardboard, pencils, and magnets. Metal paper clips easily stuck to the bottom piece of cardboard. But when she inserted a steel knife, most of the paper clips fell off as shown in the image below.
Which of the following best describes why the magnet could no longer hold the paper clips once the steel knife was inserted? A. The magnetic field was blocked when the steel knife was inserted. B. Gravity increased when the steel knife was brought close to the magnets. C. The magnetic field increased when the steel knife was inserted. D. Gravity was blocked when the steel knife was brought close to the magnets.
What are you thinking?
A
or C
Well when you have a magnet it attracks objects due to it's strength so if it looses strength due to an object it will not be able to hold the rest.
Some of the field would have been cut off due to the larger object in the field .
so it;s C
If it was increased it would still have the paper clips.
The stronger the field the more it holds.
The weaker the less it holds due to a heavier or bigger object in the way.
So its A
;)
Thank you so much
