kimlove:

A planet has an average distance to the sun of 3.36 AU. In two or more complete sentences, explain how to calculate the orbital period of the planet and calculate it.

563blackghost:

Well since it is told that the planet is orbiting the sun there is no constant. You would use the following equation. \(\bf{P^{2} = a^{3}}\) P = oribital period in time a = the distance from the object (no matter what the unit of measure is this will work) You know your distance being `3.36AU`. Just plug and simplify. \(\bf{P^{2} = (3.36)^{3}}\)
