Question

so many people post poems that they wrote, so i'm deciding to post a poem i had to write for class
it had to be depressing, so...


Facade on, smile on,
looking indifferent, looking serene, looking innocent.
The mask is perfect then,
deceiving all.
The act is impeccable,
every expression flawless,
almost deluding the self.
Chatting instantaneously with others,
no one doubts at all.

Alone,
crying, hating, dying inside
listening to sorrowful music,
reading dreary novels,
sinking more into hopelessness.
Know to pretend around others,
but isolated,
no one knows, no one realizes, no one cares,
no need.

A swift snap of the fingers,
smile turns on,
another snap,
close the eyes,
trying to stem the tears,
that have already begun
to silently seep through the lids.

Hating, despising, loathing.
Dead.
Happy.
