The Boer War Diamonds and gold were discovered in southern Africa in the 1860s and 1880s. Suddenly, adven- turers from all parts of the world rushed in to make their for- tunes. The Boers tried to keep these “outsiders” from gaining political rights. An attempt to start a rebellion against the Boers failed. The Boers blamed the British and, in 1899, took up arms against them.
In many ways, the Boer War (also known as the South African War) between the British and the Boers was the first modern “total” war. The Boers launched commando raids and used guerrilla tactics against the British. The British countered by burning Boer farms and imprisoning women and children in disease-ridden concentration camps.

Well, we have some information right off the bat.  Let me some of what it's saying for you real quick.

There were many rare minerals found in South Africa, which is where the Boers are located.  The Boers tried to hoard this for themselves and tried to keep everyone else out.  The Boers lashed out against the British because they stole their minerals which led to many wars.  The Boers ended up losing and the British committed genocide on their people.

Now the three questions we have are:

1. Who were the Boers?
2. Why did they clash against the British?
3. What was the outcome of the conflict, or war?

1.  The Boers are African people that resides in a part of South Africa that was rich in minerals.
2.  The British took the rare materials the Boers tried to protect and hoard.
3.  The Boers lost and were wiped out by the British
