2. For each of the professions in the left column, calculate the annual pay based on full-time, year-round employment consisting of 2,000 hours a year (40 hours per week for 50 weeks each year). Record your calculations under "Annual income" in the table. Then, find the difference between each annual wage figure and both the poverty threshold and the median household income. If the difference is a negative number, record it as such.
@AZ
Do you know how to get the annual income
So, 2000 hours a year... for example the first one, federal minimum wage, $7.25 per hour i suggest multiplying the two numbert ogether
7.25 and 2000, right?
yes, multiply each hourly wage by 2000
1. 14,500 2. 17,900 3. 47,740 4. 103,800 5. 165,400 6. 22,240 7. 52,940 8. 18,760 9. 21,180 10. 117,820
That's the annual income per row
Er, you didn't have to type it all out lol but write that onto your sheet?
assuming the federal poverty line is the federal minimum wage converted to annual wage subtract each of the values by 14,500
Alright
Or do you think it wants you to use the numbers from the previous question we answered?
oh
Maybe, but it didn't show a resemblance in the questions. At least that's what I saw
This question says: poverty threshold and the median household income. the federal poverty line from the previous question would be the poverty threshold and also I don't see anywhere in this current question where it mentions the median household income the average for all occupations would not be the same thing as the median household income
Ohhh - so we still have to figure out the median household income? But we use the poverty threshold from the previous question in this one
no, subtract the values from federal poverty line and median household income for each one
Alright I'll tell you when I'm done plugging the numbers.
For example I write something like uh - 14,500 - 23,550 = -9,050 Right? And then just keep going down the columns?
Exactly!
And for the second column it would be 14,500 - 51,994 = and you just go down
Kk !!
Sorry that took so long - this is what I came up with.
okay, time for me to plug it into excel and check your calculations
Excel - auto calculator
excel has a calculator?
Sort of? It's built in.
?_? how have i never heard of that b4
I got the numbers, you can check 'em while I check 'em too just for good measure
Already noticed you made a mistake - have differing answers for C8 which would be police officers annual income
And so that error made the rest of the row go wrong too
So just recheck what 26.57 * 2000 is and update that accordingly and then redo the other two in the police officer row as well
Alright then, brb
Otherwise, it looks good!
Hows this?
Looks beautiful
Great! I have uh - only 2 more left. Can you guys help me with those as well?
Will definitely try!
