Read the information below: During the 1820s and 1830s, many people settled in Texas and California. The territories were part of Mexico. Some thought that the United States should annex those territories. The territories were soon independent of Mexico. They became part of the United States. Which of following supports this passage? Mexico and the United States claimed different national boundaries until the 1840s. Mexico did not have very tight control over its northern territories. Texas and California needed U.S. military aid to gain independence from Mexico. Texas and California were only sparsely populated before the 1820s.

Florisalreadytaken:

ok so the 1st option has got time-irrelevance so we can kick that one out

Florisalreadytaken:

and the text above doesn't mention anything about Mexico's control over its northern territories.

Florisalreadytaken:

so we can eliminate the 2nd one too.

Florisalreadytaken:

same thing with the 3rd one.

Florisalreadytaken:

furthermore, D is the correct answer.

XxxMioxxX:

thanks

KjSaif:

Hmm, are you sure? If we put same knowledge you said on B wouldn't that be applied to D? It never stated that it was sparsely populated.

Florisalreadytaken:

that is right, but having a look at what we have, D seems to be the best fit.
