i need help
2. Describe the shape of the cross section when the box is cut parallel to the base.
my measurements are length = 8in. width=5in. Height=1in.
it's a Triangle right?
no rectangle
you finding the area?
if its a rectangle, then that should be the answer-
is it like a cube? a 3d model?
there are 2 simple basic rules A cross section that is parallel to the base is a hexagon congruent to the hexagonal bases. A cross section that is perpendicular to the base is a rectangle. in your case, the right answer is the second one
so if u cut it parallel to the base ur basically cutting the height in half correct?
that doesnt make since roney
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MidNiGhtSkY that doesnt make since roney \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) what do you mean?
your post- :>
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @skrtkobainn my measurements are length = 8in. width=5in. Height=1in. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) are these measurements before or after you cut the box?

A rectangle is a 2D shape in geometry, having 4 sides and 4 corners. Its two sides meet at right angles. Thus, a rectangle has 4 angles, each measuring 90 ̊.
alright, i was just wondering it so i know how to help, Mudasir
im gone because more help is needed here than i can give
Ok solve now\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MidNiGhtSkY \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Mudasir \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MidNiGhtSkY alright, i was just wondering it so i know how to help, Mudasir \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Really \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yea, it wasn't really making sense to me \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Ok solve now
i can try but i don't know if that was the beginning measurements or after they cut it
Area=length × width
those were the beginning measement
Area of the rectangle, A = L × B A = L \times B A=L×B. Area of the square, A = S i d e 2 =Side ^2 =Side2. Perimeter of a rectangle, P = 2 × ( L + B ) P = 2 \times ( L+B ) P=2×(L+B)
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @skrtkobainn those were the beginning measement \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) are you trying to find the area? surface area? or perimeter?
2. Describe the shape of the cross section when the box is cut parallel to the base.
the box is a cube right? and a cube is a square shape supposedly? so if you cut it what should it be?
so the thing i measured is a rectangle
mhm
and if you cut the rectangle like your cutting a slice of cheese it would be.
12 is right answer
she is finding the shape, 12 isn't a shape.
Ok shape
would it be a square?
wait why is the cut diagonal?
your doing it parallel right?
i thought it had to be parallel to the base?
it's parrellel
as i posted earlier in the question
:I i need to spell correct, and it's parallel. i scrolled to check :)
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @HaydenwH so if u cut it parallel to the base ur basically cutting the height in half correct? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\)
triangle if its cut diagonally?
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MidNiGhtSkY your doing it parallel right? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Yes
