I've been stuck on a friend of mine for the past 5 years, She's not around anymore but is it healthy to keep a person who isn't in your life anymore in your thoughts for such a long time?

I can say, are the memories bad? Do you want to lose her? Even if you don't see her you still have the thought of her. Isn't that good? Sure therapy may "help" but it won't work as well as caring for someone who had left you.
It's unhealthy to be attached to someone that isn't in your life anymore, Yeah it's gonna hurt trying to let go I understand but it's best to move on. This could cause depression *imo* Try not thinking of them, Yeah memories exist n all but you need to let go,

No the memories were the best ive ever made with another person but she moved away long time ago. I know that she's gone and I'm trying not to think about it but to me I couldn't just abandon her like that. Its like disrespecting the good in my life
But i see what you all mean and I just guess its something I have to come to terms with and move on slowly
Salt, ok you don't NEED to live just replace her or whatever but it's best to move on. It's going to hurt you more if you stay attached. I learned that the hard way.
