What did Indians use as blankets? Why?

Hoodmemes:

I'm pretty sure they used animal fur and sewed it into a blanket-like shape to which they thought was big enough to cover their body. Honestly, they didn't have many advanced materials that they could use back then, and they were pretty skilled at hunting an animal, killing it, and using its fur productively. Now (why) they did so they had no other things the were good enough to keep them warm in the winter (we gotta remember that they lived in forests etc nature was their home, there were no houses, etc) This is (Googalable)

elpapitocay:

they also used their own hair as blankets
