One theory is because of the fraction of which your life is experienced. For example, Living 1 year at 10 years old takes up 1/10 of your life. Meanwhile, living 1 year at 30 years old only takes up 1/30 of your life. As the fractions get smaller, the time feels like it is going faster as each year is less of a fraction of your life.
