I can see your point of view on A, It was also one of me ideas of what the answer might be. I was thinking either A or C. But in C it says "horses" and there is only one horse they are talking about. In D, it seems that in the last stanza it was reflecting happiness. And is saying good about the horse. So I believe A is correct.
