TETSXPREME:

TETSXPREME:

AZ:

Uhhhhhh I'm going to disagree

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MrMudd183 I'd eliminate C. Nowhere in the passage it states anything about the United States. True it does say "resources of the colonies", but their being used to benefit the British Government \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Yeah, it's not talking about the United States. But Virginia is one of the 13 colonies that later became part of the US

AZ:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MrMudd183 I agree, A is stating a profession that they're doing to help supply the British Government and also stating that others chose different professions \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) The problem with A is- Look at the first sentence. We're talking about COLONIES. But then answer choice A is talking about people. Read the sentences together. It sounds as if you're saying some colonies were farmers and other colonies were specialized. But can a colony be a farmer? "The early American colonies were valuable to Great Britain in different ways. Some of them were farmers, and others chose different specialties."

MrMudd183:

Okay okay, I was trying to get my work done as well as help...I'll delete the response since I'm incorrect and you're correct

AZ:

@TETSXPREME I think you have to keep in mind that the question is asking about which answer choice revises the sentence to be more PRECISE. Precise is different from CONCISE

AZ:

The definition of `precise` according to Oxford Languages is "marked by exactness and accuracy of expression or detail." We want an answer choice that gives us details and is accurate

TETSXPREME:

oh so C?

AZ:

Look at C and D since those are the only ones that talk about the colonies and what they produce A - starts talking about people B - starts talking about products which one gives you more detail? C or D?

AZ:

Remember, the original sentence is Some of them grew things, and others produced things. What did they grow? What did they produce? We want something precise

TETSXPREME:

D

AZ:

There you go

TETSXPREME:
