an someone please help me with this math homework please am in 7th grade https://ibb.co/54MSvnp and when your done answer the question here is the answer key for the question that I gave you https://ibb.co/x7vXJnp

Tonycoolkid21:

AZ:

you need to find the area of each shape and add them all together we have 4 triangles and one square area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height area of square = side * side

AZ:

so let's look at the area of the triangle we have a base of 25 and a height of 29 so put it into the formula area = 1/2 * 25 * 29 area = ??

Tonycoolkid21:

725

AZ:

you forgot to multiply by 1/2 which is the same thing as 0.5 what is 0.5 * 725

Tonycoolkid21:

362.5

AZ:

and how many triangles do you have?

Tonycoolkid21:

4

AZ:

good good so we're looking for LATERAL surface area if we were looking for normal surface area, we would also have to find the area of the square but LATERAL surface area is the area of all the sides but not including the base and the top

AZ:

so that means it's only the area of the triangles

AZ:

so each triangle has the same area and we have 4 triangles so you can either add them up 4 times or just multiply the area by 4 what is 4 * 362.5

Tonycoolkid21:

1450

AZ:

so that's the lateral surface area and your final answer so whatever letter is on that slide, go write that on top of that blank that says 1450

Tonycoolkid21:

ok thank you sir next question sir

Tonycoolkid21:

AZ:

it's the same thing, you're looking for lateral surface area that means we want to find the area of the triangle but here we have to be careful since we have 2 different kinds of triangles we have a smaller triangle and a bigger triangle

AZ:

let's look at the small triangle first area of a triangle = 1/2 * base * height the base of the smaller triangle is 6 and the height is 8 so what is the area?

Tonycoolkid21:

24

Tonycoolkid21:

24?

AZ:

Yes! Good! What about the other bigger triangle? It has a base of 10 and a height of 12 area = 1/2 * base * height

Tonycoolkid21:

60

AZ:

Wonderful!! So remember, LATERAL surface area is the area of all the sides we don't include the base or the top so we have two triangles with an area of 60 and two triangles with an area of 24 so the lateral surface area is 24 + 24 + 60 + 60 = ??

Tonycoolkid21:

168

AZ:

and you're all done! So on your other page, where you see 168 go put the letter on top of it I think it's an O? It's cut off in the screenshot but you should know what it is
