so i add 12 and 6? and that leaves x and y?

no using these expressions of the half diagonals you can write 6x = y+12 y = 3x solve this sistem for x and y
its confusing me. I tried subtracting 6 on both sides but i looked at it and it looks like if i woulda kept doing that then it woulda jus showed "x = y"
no bc. in the second equation you get y = 3x so just substitute the 3x in place of y inside the first equation and solve it for x
I got 4 for x
and y is 12
