Well, in Hinduism, animal sacrifices are like ways to praise the Gods and offer them a sacrifice. It's one of those tribal practices that still happen today. The subdivison known as Shaktism, which is a part of Hinduism that is associated strongly with the God Shakti and animal sacrifice. It also played a big part in Buddhism since originated from Hinduism. Siddhartha Gautama was actually a hindu prince before he left his religion and position and became more "down to earth"
