There it was the jewel I had worked my entire life tirelessly trying to find it was right in from of me right for the taking. As I start to get closer to the jewel, I realize it looks like it’s moving almost like breathing I brush this off as just me seeing things, When I go to reach my hand out to grab the jewel it turns into a gelatinous blob and starts to engulf my hand. I tried to pull away but every time I did it just started creeping up my arm quicker. I reached with my free hand and tried to grab my radio but instead grabbed at air I must have left it on the boat. As I was panicking, I suddenly realize the blob was starting to form a face and limbs. frantically grab my knife and start slashing at the blob. I ended up cutting just barely enough off me to frantically be able to swim away. I got back to our boat and everyone eagerly asks me if I saw the jewel. I hesitate for a second before saying there was nothing but fish and sand hoping they would believe me. Everyone looks at me with sad looks on their faces but end up going back to their places on the boat. As we sail away, I think about everything I've sacrificed and lost in the hunt for the jewel only to find out it’s a monster. I take one last look back and I see nothing but calm ocean. I sit there and pray no one else comes across that monster.
