The slope formula is \(\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\) y2 is the second `y` value y1 is the first `y` value x2 is the second `x` value x1 is the first `x` value ( Remember that an ordered pair is \((x,~y)\) ) I believe the two points you have are \((1,~5)~ \&~ (-1~-5)\)
