\[5(x – 4) + 3x – 9x + 7. \] Distribtue 5 to x and -4 \[5x - 20 + 3x - 9x + 7\] Like terms \[(5x + 3x - 9x) + (-20 + 7)\] \[(5x + 3x - 9x) = -x\] \[ (-20 + 7) = -13\] \[-x - 13\]
