If you add Boric Acid to a fire, it turns green. Explain why this would happen
@snowflake0531
What do you know about Boron? And how energy is emitted as light
I know nothing about boron.
i jus know it turns fire green
but i dont know how.
What happens if you heat up something? You're adding energy to it, right?
yes thermal energy
okay and then when the compound loses some of that energy, then that energy is emitted as light
Okay.
and depending on the compounds- different compounds absorb different amounts of energy and they can release different amounts of energy so different elements will give off different colors
Oh okay.
