The aim of the "Zimbardo prison experiment" was to determine if the reports on (Guard Brutality) in prisons were true. They basically wanted t find out if the cause of the guard brutality was from the prison environment and the prisoner's actions in general, or if it was from the barbarous nature of the prison guards. This would help figure out if the problem with the guard brutality was dispositional or situational.
