Abbicat12:

Write the equation of the line that passes through 3,4 and 2,-1 in slope intercept form

snowflake0531:

Is this completely new, or have you forgotten how to do it, or is this for practice that you're just not sure of

Abbicat12:

I forgotten how to do this its been a long time

snowflake0531:

Okay, we first have to find the slope of this Do you know the way to find that?

snowflake0531:

Where (x,y) (x,y)

snowflake0531:

So, we can get\[\frac{ 4-(-1) }{ 3-1 }\]

snowflake0531:

So, we have 5 as the slope

snowflake0531:

And now we have to find the y-intercept, we can do this by plugging in a coordinate, where y=mx+b, m is slope, b is y-intercept, so we have (3,4) 5 as slope 4 = 3(5) + b 4= 15+b b=-11

snowflake0531:

So, we have y=5x -11
