Random question (feel free to close if irrelevant) but would it be possible for there to be an AFK status if a tutor/user hasn't been active (participating in a question or responding to one, for example) for a while?
We could also include one for "currently in chat" if necessary.
Also, does anyone know when the edit original post bug will be fixed? Like an estimated timeframe. Just asking for the users is all
I mean it depends, I'm not exactly 'part' of the site if you know what I mean, but it would depend on the coding of the site. Like how it's originally coded

Automatically for sure. Like estimated around half an hour at least. I would say a couple hours of AFK would be best though
Generally I take it upon myself to inform people that I'm going AFK, but not everyone is obligated to do that. Just thought a feature would save some time and confusion
I don't see the necessity of this feature even if it was coded
But like being AFK for a couple of hours would kinda be a bit too much wouldn't it? When users answer a question, they would 'expect' it to be explained and answered. Being AFK for a couple of min sure, if so you are going afk or offline, you could leave the question for some1 else to answer
Well, some newbies do have the bad habit of mass-tagging/repeat tagging tutors when they need help. I do believe there's a rule against it but I still see it happen often.

And usually there's at least 1 experienced user on a post, that user should know to report such things -
You are correct about being AFK for long periods of time - but I generally try to return to the site in between. Not sure about others as I don't observe them for extended lengths of time though Note: I get updates on posts I'm subscribed to, js

Pinging on a post I'm subscribed to gives double notifications. I don't know if that's how things are setup or a bug, but just putting that out there as well
For mod review purposes*
If you're talking about newbies... people who have only recently come on, that means they also barely know how to use the site. So, adding an afk status probably won't do too much... because they have yet to even learn how to use the site yet also, to be honest, I've rarely seen a user mass tag, only maybe like twice before xd
I mean I've seen users tag once, but some users have tagged more than twice For example, when a user tagged flakes 3 times or was it more than 3 - And yea the new users wouldn't know how to use the site yet, so it adding that feature would make it, lets say a little more 'difficult' but adding that feature was a really good idea!
That's true, people used to do it more on OS as well as early QC. Guess they either know better now or people informed them. Or people are just nicer now.
I did get subject to mass DMs once though when I went AFK for about 20 minutes. Sometimes people still do that.

I suppose. Maybe older QC would have use of such features but not anymore. I haven't really been active on the site to the extent of observing such changes. Thanks for peer feedback, guys.

That was anyway not a good idea bcs it had more hassles and less advantage
but thanks for the thought:)
Hmm... maybe they turned off subscribed thread pings?
No problem :) Okay, closing now. Thanks all!
