A. Susan loved to ride up into the mountains. Her favorite pastime was climbing the highest hill and watching the wild horses below. One stallion, in particular, was her favorite. She loved his strength and beauty. She was glad he was free.

One day as she was watching the horses from her hill, some riders came near. They came with lassoes, and their target was the stallion. Soon they were in a fast chase. Susan was frantic.

B. Then a smile crossed her face, and her body slumped to the ground in relief.
