cos(x) = adjacent/hypotenuse
tan(x) = opposite/adjacent

x is actually theta, which is the degree
opposite/adjacent/hypotenuse is just from teh reference angle, there's the hypotenuse, there's the adjacent side that isn't hte hypotenuse, and the opposite side
