any ideas/guesses on what the answer may be?

minustempo:

it's B total internal reflection is when all of the light is reflected back from one medium when the light hits another, and bounces back. and it can only happen from a denser medium to a less dense medium a higher refractive index means light travels more slowly, which means it's more dense, and thus total internal reflection can only happen if the light is traveling from medium A to medium B
