I've made some tweaks to the recently re-added animated avatars, Details Below


if you have any feedback for it or things you would prefer for it please leave it below.

GIF avatars now show all the time in the messages panel, currently viewed questions, fans and testimonial panels, profiles and popup profiles, and the rest shows when you hover over the relevant information, such as over the user on the user list, over the chat message in chat, or over a question in the questions list.

Additionally GIF avatars will not play/render when you are not focused on the QC tab to save computer/phone resources.

I've also made preparations to allow for Animated Custom Emoji, I'm just deciding on how to go about implementing it client side, but the backbone is all there

If you notice anything that looks weird or isn't showing correctly, or if you have a preference in to when the GIF avatars should play and where, feel free to leave your comments and I'll consider/work on them :)

Aeons frontend was programmed originally in PHP, however it was done using deprecated methods, and some features I was relying on was actually removed in PHP 8, due to the size of that part of the code, it makes more sense to redo it from scratch then try to piece together what is there

How do you download gifs?

Find the image you want, make sure it's a ,gif file, save it, then if you have a subscription here - you can click your profile and change it to that image

The correlation is that while upgrading the PHP version to PHP 8, it removed features that Aeon relied on in the language itself, so it's really a joke that I had to sacrafice aeon, and more that I couldn't upgrade to PHP 8 which I needed to do until I reprogrammed how avatars are scaled, an unfortunate side effect I didn't expect was Aeon being incompae
