whats step one

AZ:

hmmm so \(f(x) = \sqrt{x+3} -9\) and \( f(g(x)) = x\) that means then \( f (g(x)) = \sqrt{g(x) + 3} - 9 = x\) so we need to solve for g(x) \(\sqrt{g(x) + 3} - 9 = x\) what do you get if you add 9 to both sides?

9+9 and 3+9?

AZ:

it's - 9 + 9 and 3 is under the square root so you can't do anything to it yet and x + 9 on the other side so simplify it and then we want to get g(x) outside of that square root, so square both sides and remember \((a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2\)
