Explain Guerilla Warfare and how it was important to the battle for independence.

ScamTheMan:

Well, to understand how Guerilla Warfare works, we first need to understand how warfare was usually fought. I'm assuming you're talking about the American Revolutionary War, meaning we'll be identifying how the British fought. Usually, they fought in lines and marched. When one fell, they would be replaced with the person behind them. These people in the first ranks would be using guns until they were close enough to use the knives on the tips of their guns. This is how most wars were fought, rushing in straight forward and hoping casualties were at a minimum. Guerilla Warfare was basically the opposite. Instead of rushing face first, they used their surrounding areas to camouflage themselves. They used irregular patterns and dispersion to confuse the enemy and provide themselves with far more mobility. Like a "hit and run" almost. They hit, and ran. These irregular tactics provided extremely useful against traditional military strategies.
