well i have grown up on some heartbreak songs and usually they sing the incident and then the aftermath, and how they cope with the aftermath so maybe like that and how you've managed to not let that take full control of your life

Well I shall say that writing about your life growing up is a good one. I had a hard upbringing, so it would be very interesting to make a song about it. But, another idea could be about a positive thing. Maybe writing about how much you love someone.
