This is an opinion-based piece so there's not really a right/wrong answer as long as you justify your opinion well.

Personally, I think it's good to start building credit early **with the caveat** that this high school student already has a good track record with money, and not making impulsive purchasing decisions.

For college students, it's very inconvenient to live without a credit card, so unless they're irresponsible, I'd say get one with a reasonable credit limit. Similar opinion for adults.
