Alex is planning to surround his pool ABCD with a single line of tiles. How many units of tile will he need to surround his pool? Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

AverageStudent:

To my understanding, I think you take the base times the Height so, \[2.24\times5=?\] That should answer your question.

AverageStudent:

Here is a picture that could help rounding to the nearest hundredth

AverageStudent:

To my understanding, it will still be 2.24x5=?

XLynx:

Yeah. Perimeter is what you're trying to solve for, so you'd need to multiply the equal lengths of 2.24 by 5.

theyadoreshayyy:

its 11.2, but if we are rounding, then it would be 10.48 because thats the closest right ?

AverageStudent:

Yes, I would guess that.

Honda:

So for peramiter you want b+b+h+h. all your sides plus each other. so it would be 5+5+2.24+2.24

theyadoreshayyy:

14.48, s when you round it its gonna be 13.42

theyadoreshayyy:

so^

Honda:

@AZ can you come to explain this please.
