The solution, or where the lines meet, is -3, 2. That's one point. The horizontal point is given by y = 2; 0,2. The answer has to be 8, since that's the Y coordinate that would stretch the right leg enough to fit into the formula to give us 9. 8-2 is 6. Since our bottom leg is 3, you'd multiply 3 into 6. That gives us 18. According to the formula, you'd have to half that to have the area. That gives us 9, which fits into the question. 8 is your answer.
