Well when I write, I just write how im feeling, or abt someone specific, but its usually just abt how im feeling. (happy, sad, etc.) With poems you can literally write about anything as long as it all makes sense when all put together.

If your planning on doing some abt love, here are 2 tht I made..Im not sure if your planning on doing like breakup types, or just like someone specific but..I provided an example of each..I hope this sorta helps.
