When you exercise, it burns fat and muscle. The amount of muscle you burn is minimal, though. If you do excess cardio, it can increase the risk of more muscle burn. That happens as your body struggles to keep up with the increased level of energy. If someone is overweight, to much cardio can be bad for them. They have to take it slow and not try to burn off all the fat in one day.

Now, i believe all the answers are correct for your next question apart from one. Let me explain. If you do high impact exercises, as i already stated in the 1st question, that is bad for an overweight person. If you are overweight, you should exercise for a long period of time. You should exercise at moderate intensity because it's just enough to burn off fat. I dont think you should exercise below your target heart rate, because exercise is supposed to get you heart pumping. I think you should slowly increase the duration, as then you body will get used to the intensity slowly going up, but not at a fast pace where your body can't keep up.
