I need help with some math
yes what is it?
here are the problems
nope dont know it sorry.
please? anyone? I'm really stressing out.
That's a lot of questions. One at at time, shall we?
For the first question, we have a regular pyramid. This means that the base is a regular polygon- so that triangle base has all equal sides We want to calculate the surface area The surface area is the area of each side all added together so if we take a look at the image they gave us- we have the base of the pyramid and it's a triangle That triangle has a base of 15 and a height of 13 And then we have three other triangles that form the sides of the pyramid And these triangles have a base of 15 and a height of 10 So let's calculate the area of the base The formula for the area of a triangle is area = 1/2 * base * height so if the base is 15 and the height is 13 what is the area?
ummmm322.5?
How did you get that? What numbers did you multiply
umm well it's a triangular base so
it would be bxlxh
so it would be 3(1/2)13x15x10
No no no
We have to find the area of the triangle base 1/2 * 15 * 13 and then we have three other triangles that all have the same area so 3 * 1/2 * 15 * 10 and then you add those two areas and that would be your surface area does that make sense?
ohhhh yeah
well what about the 13?
ok wait i got the first 2 finished
but i don't know how to do the rest
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Mez666 well what about the 13? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) What do you mean?
never mind
There's too many questions posted that I have no idea which one you're referring to. If you want to work on another question, close this post and ask a new question
here i'll just send the one i need help on currently
It's the same concept surface area = area of all the sides added up you have a square with sides 4.5 what is the area of the square? and then you have 4 triangles that have a base of 4.5 and a height of 4 what is the area of one triangle with a base of 4.5 and a height of 4? what would the area of four triangles be? just multiply it by 4 and then add up the area of the square and the four triangles and that's your surface area
the area of one side is 9
the area of one triangle**
what would the area of 4 triangles be?
just multiply that number by 4
36
So that's the area of the 4 triangles we still need the area of the square the formula for the area of squares is side * side so the side 4.5 so the area is going to be 4.5 * 4.5 = ??
56.25?
right?
Yes, that's the final surface area
this is the next problem
