Ok so I know a lot of you have finals/state testing coming up, some of you already started yours, I am making this post to help you out a bit with note taking, concentration tips, and helpful reminders when test taking

Tips on how to take focused notes-

~Remember~
-Establish a purpose and objective for note taking
-Write an essential question to guide the note-taking
-Select the best format for taking notes
-Learn to use a variety of different formats for different purposes
-Write notes based on your source(s)

Tips for concentrating during study/testing-

-Try to pace yourself reasonably
-(set aside a certain amount of time for each thing such as 15 minutes of reading, 15 for
note taking, 10 for revising and re-reading)
-Make a plan of "attack"
(set a plan on how you would work through your task)
-Break down large tasks into smaller "easier" parts
(If you are tasked with writing an essay take that apart and work step by step- working
on each part individually not focusing on everything at once)
~which brings me to~
-DO ONE THING AT A TIME-
-don't worry yourself about dealing with big tasks like writing an essay-
~for example~
-If you are writing an essay then don't try to plan/draft your essay while you are
reading your source

~ The 3 main things you need when taking a test are good notes and great concentration ~
~But don't forget knowledge over the topic of the subject of the test~

-There is no way you will pass a test when you didn't pay attention in class
-Make sure you are paying close attention when you are being taught something and
even more so when going over review
-Also remember that taking notes is useless if you don't know when to take them
-If your History teacher is talking about the revolutionary war and that is what your
unit is about then you should take notes
~however~
-If your teacher is talking about the revolutionary war and your unit is about
Christopher Columbus then you shouldn't be taking notes, UNLESS you want to

~Last thing~
-Don't worry too much about the outcome of the test
~worrying to much causes anxiety and it will cause you to loose focus making it harder
for you to complete your task properly/efficiently~
