A planet has an average distance to the sun of 3.36 AU. In two or more complete sentences, explain how to calculate the orbital period of the planet and calculate it.

In order to find the orbital period of a planet, you'd have to use Kepler's Third Law of planetary motion. The formula for finding the orbital period in the third law is: \[P=\sqrt{a ^{3}}\] Where "P" is the period, expressed in Earth years, and "a" is the size of the orbit, expressed in AU. Calculating the orbital period of the planet using the formula, you'd have to do: \[P=\sqrt{(3.36)^{3}}\] The resulting answer, rounded to the nearest hundredth, is around 6.16 Earth years.
