What is sustainable energy?

kittybasil:

Hi! Is this the whole question? I could give you an answer here but I think we need more context so we can give you a BETTER answer :)

DADDYROXY:

It is the use of energy and meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.

DADDYROXY:

for instance what is the the word "sustainable" means??

Ashely:

ohhh I got it

Ashely:

Thank u so much

kittybasil:

Yep! What Roxy said :) Basically the concept of sustainability means that it can keep going for a long period of time without causing harm/detriment to future generations. Examples can be wind power (like those fans you see on the fields), tidal energy (such as dams in rivers) and solar power* *Though solar power isn't always good. Fun fact: solar panels actually generate so much heat that they fry birds that fly by! If you pass by solar panels in the desert, you will see a BUNCH of dead birds around them. :(

Ashely:

Interesting

kittybasil:

Here's a good source (if you can get through all the fancy language) on sustainable energy :) LINK

Ashely:

Thank you!

kittybasil:

Oh wait... that's an academic journal my bad. Let me find something less complicated

Ashely:

lmao

Ashely:

okay

kittybasil:

Significantly less complicated explanation lol

Ashely:

Thanks kitty

kittybasil:

I go by Kitt, but no problem :-)
