We know that 5x-5 angle is not 90 degrees or less...
crispyrat:
so 5x-5+2x+10=180, can you do that from there?
xXQuintonXx:
huh
QuestionCoveBot:
@crispyrat It's finding X.

And your gonna confuse Quinton, so I suggest you let me do this.
xXQuintonXx:
lol i've been doing so much hw and stuff today that im getting confused so easilly
crispyrat:
so to find an equation you have to get it so that one side is all x and one side is all numbers
ok so for example 5x+2=10 then you minus 2 from both sides 5x=8 and divide 5 by both sides so x=5/8. can u do something similar

@xxquintonxx
did you know that a straight line equals 180 degrees?

ik all the degree stuff im just confused on how to find X
snowflake0531:
So since we know that a straight line is 180 degrees, and we have a straight line, we put 180 at one end of the equation, and the other stuff at the other end
snowflake0531:
So we have
180 = 5x-5 +2x+10
snowflake0531:
So what do you get
xXQuintonXx:
13x?

how did you get that
snowflake0531:
WE want to combine the like terms
180 = 5x-5 +2x+10
180 = (5x+2x) + (10-5)
xXQuintonXx:
my head was completly doing this wrong mb
snowflake0531:
...
so what do you get
xXQuintonXx:
so 7x + 5

snowflake0531:
Yes so
180 = 7x + 5
so find x
do you know how to do that?
i'm not sure about when you earlier said you need help finding x as in finding the equation or the steps to solve for x
xXQuintonXx:
dont i just multiply sum with 7 to get it so that its 5 away from 180 so that i can add the 5?
snowflake0531:
No
crispyrat:
so if you wanted to get rid of 5 on just 7x+5 what would you do
xXQuintonXx:
i'd subtract it by 5 to get rid of it

snowflake0531:
To get rid of the 5
180 = 7x + 5
180 - 5 = 7x + 5- 5
snowflake0531:
@xxquintonxx wrote:

so what do you get
xXQuintonXx:
0

ima be honest rn, both of u doing this at once got me confused
snowflake0531:
Subtract from both sides of the equation
snowflake0531:
what is 180-5
what is 7x + 5-5
xXQuintonXx:
175
7x
